Abstracts
Call for late breaker abstracts is now closed!
Individuals, groups, and organisations were invited to submit their work and its actual or potential impact on the response to viral hepatitis in their nation, region, or community.

Abstract categories
We welcomed abstracts on hepatitis A, B, C, D and E in all categories. We particularly encouraged submissions from civil society organisations, people with lived experience and from Low- or Middle-Income Country (LMIC).
- Advocacy, awareness and education campaigns
- Combatting stigma and discrimination
- Financing for viral hepatitis (including investment cases, financing models and the impact of recent funding cuts)
- Innovations – in technologies and / or service delivery, including de-centralisation, task-shifting, simplification and community-led initiatives
- Integration – liver cancer, HIV, NCDs, TB, maternal-and-child health, primary care or other relevant areas
- Partnerships (private / public, cross-sectoral)
- Prevention of mother-to-child transmission of viral hepatitis and hepatitis in children
- The power and impact of lived experience
- The role of robust data, surveillance, monitoring and evaluation in elimination
- Universal Health Coverage and person-centred approaches

Scholarships
WHS 2026 offered a limited number of abstract scholarships. These scholarships will be awarded to individuals born in low- and middle-income countries (as defined by World Bank data) and applied only to abstracts submitted by the main deadline in September 2025. Recipients were selected based on the highest-rated qualifying abstracts that fully met all submission guidelines. Please note that they do not apply to late breaker abstract submissions.

Recipients will receive a certificate and acknowledgement of their achievement in a ceremony hosted at the WHS in April 2026. Please note that scholarships do not apply to late breaker abstract submissions.

Please read the guidelines carefully before submitting. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines will not be accepted.
