Dr. Jackson Amone is a Public Health Physician and the Commissioner in-charge of Integrated Curative Services at the Ministry of Health, Uganda. He obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Master of Medicine, Diploma in Public Health and Diploma in Education, all from Makerere University, Kampala. He also has a Master in Business Administration from MSM/ESAMI. He has studied Public Health in Complex Emergencies, and Health Systems Development and strengthening.
His area of interest is management of infectious diseases including epidemic management. He has been the national coordinator of Viral Haemorrhagic Fever and has participated in many outbreaks. During the West Africa Ebola Epidemic in 2014/15, he worked in Sierra Leone as a District Coordinator and later Case Management Lead in the Ebola Epidemic Response. Currently, he supervises all the health facilities and coordinates the hepatitis programme in Uganda.
